Wilderness Navigator: July 27-31, 2015
Jul 27, 2015 @ 9:00 am - Jul 31, 2015 @ 3:00 pm
Offered to Ages 7-12
What would happen if you were suddenly separated from your group without all of your gear? What steps would you take to ensure you stay safe if you realized you were lost? Come to learn and practice the skills to survive using what’s around you, and comfortably provide for all of your needs. While learning techniques to be sure you are found, you will also practice making wilderness shelters, fires, water filters, and basic wilderness first aid. Learning how to navigate using a compass, map, and awareness will help you avoid getting lost. If you do find yourself lost and alone, you will have the skills to keep a positive mental attitude, stay alive, and make it home. These skills can save your life but are also exciting and fun to learn and practice—you might even forget you’re lost!
